What does it mean to be blessed?
If you watched or listened to our weekly meeting at GBM Fellowship, then you know that this week was all about prosperity. Imagine if every believer could walk in prosperity and not have to worry about making ends meet.
The Lord wants you to prosper. Because this is the only way that theft and strife will disappear.
During our weekly meeting Apostle Les mentioned our foundational teaching. “The New Way of Blessing” and how important it is. This teaching is the most essential teaching that we offer. Yet sometimes it seems that we ourselves forget how powerful it is.
Today I want to tell you my story of The Way of Blessing.
My Story
When I was young I had many desires. Mostly for toys, because I was still young. But I knew what I wanted. And it was never a case of, well we will just buy it. If I wanted something I had to put my faith out and ask Jesus for it. So I learned pretty young many of the principles of the Way of Blessing.
I never really knew the exact principles, but God honored my childlike faith. And I received many of the things I desired and put my faith out for. I have many memories of me sitting alone in my room asking God if I can have that thing I saw in the store today.
I can also remember the day when I decided ok now I will read the Way of Blessing and finally understand it. So I sat down to read it. It was a big book, and I was not used to reading that much. But even after reading it, I did not fully understand it completely.
Not too long after this I was given the job of playing our videos and recording them onto digital format. Because at that time they were in an old tape format. So I had to watch through each message from beginning to end, one at a time until it was done and then stop the recording.
One of the first series I had to do… you guessed it… The Way of Blessing.
I was amazed as I watched through how powerful this teaching is and how much I did not understand. I always understood, yeah, God has blessed us. But there is far more to it than just being blessed. I would always say the word “Blessed” and not actually know what it means.
As time went on I would often remember parts of the teaching. Because it had started to sink down into my spirit.
The principles are powerful and they started to come up at the right time when I needed them.
God Meets Your Desires
I remember the one day as I was believing the Lord for something as I would usually do, I felt a new faith begin to stir up in my heart. I knew that if the Lord had promised it to me I would receive that desire.
I saw the picture in my mind. I could see that desire and I saw the Lord handing it to me. It was clear as day, as though I had actually got it already.
It’s not so hard to imagine something in your mind when you want it. But this is more than just imagining. It is when the Lord gives you that Rhema word in your spirit, and tells you “Yes, I have given it to you, reach out and take it.”
God wants you to reach out with desire. He will not just force this on you, without you asking.
The Key
The most important part of this teaching is to make you understand that God has already blessed you. You don’t need principles to experience God’s blessing in your life. But there are some things that hold you back from that blessing.
And this teaching shows you how you can learn to overcome those things and tap into the fullness of blessing that God has for you. There are steps that you can take to break though and experience that blessing in your life.
And that is what the New Way of Blessing is all about – showing you the right steps to take. There are a few steps and they are laid out in detail. If you follow them through you will see results. But it may take time and effort on your part before you break free.
If you have never seen this teaching then I suggest that you take a look at it. Every believer needs to know how to tap the blessing of God that is inside of them. Because when you do, it will affect every area of your life.
You need this foundation to build on. Then you can truly rise up into all that God wants for you. Not only that, but you can go out and show others that God has blessed them also.
